It was neither hubris nor charity that prompted Ron Sher to open an independent book store in the late 1990's, when Amazon.com was first beginning to turn a profit. Whether you're passing the time, exploring new grounds or catching up on summer beach reading, bookstores are a great place to hang out. The only thing better than a bookstore would be a particularly friendly bookstore with a 10,000 SF commons attached, where you are encouraged to linger as long as you like. That is what Third Place Books is all about.
